Mobile app for your customers
Customer apps for booking, ordering and staying in touch, built only where someone has a reason to open one.

Your customers live on their phones, and so does everyone who might work for you. A customer app keeps the business one tap away for booking, ordering, loyalty and updates — a direct line a good website struggles to match. The condition is that there has to be a reason to open it.
- Worth it if
- There's a habit to build on
- Discovery
- Mostly via your own links
- Notifications
- Rarely, and opt-in
- Website
- Still essential
Where AI fits in a customer app
Recommending what a guest might want next time, finding a past booking without searching through everything, and answering 'where is my table' at midnight when the kitchen has closed. All three save real time. None is a reason to build anything — the app has to justify itself first.
The download is the hard part
Getting somebody to install an app onto the phone they use for everything else is the single biggest obstacle, and no amount of marketing fixes it. People install things when there's a reason to keep opening them. That is worth saying plainly, because it rules out a lot of projects that would otherwise look like good ideas.
What earns an install
A loyalty scheme people carry. Saved preferences and past orders in one place. Early access to a table, a berth or a treatment before anyone else. A boat charter, a gym, a beach club — these have a genuine habit attached, and a habit is the only thing that reliably produces a second opening.
Onboarding decides whether they come back
The thirty seconds after someone installs decide whether this becomes a habit or a curiosity. If signing up, finding a booking and getting hold of the thing they came for takes longer, they'll leave and not come back — and you'll have paid to build something they ignore. So we design the shortest possible route to the reason they opened it, and let everything else wait.
Notifications, used sparingly
Push is powerful and extremely easy to abuse. One useful message a month outperforms a weekly campaign from a business most people have already muted. And here's the local complication: a large share of your customers would rather a message than a notification. The app should feed WhatsApp rather than compete with it.
Not an excuse to neglect the website
Plenty of your customers will never install anything, and they include some of your best ones. What we build here is an addition to a good website rather than a replacement for it — and when what you actually need is a better website, we'll say so, because that costs a great deal less and reaches far more people.
What’s included
- Booking and ordering in a few taps
- Useful notifications, chosen by the customer
- Loyalty and rewards people actually use
- Accounts, order history and saved preferences
- Simple, secure sign-in — or none at all
Why it matters
- Repeat business instead of one-off visits
- A channel to your customers that a platform can't take
- Convenience that brings people back
Often useful alongside this
- Mobile app design which covers the design and build of the customer app.
- E-commerce if buying is the main thing people would do in it.
Common questions
- Do I need a big customer base to justify one?
- Fewer than you'd imagine, provided there's a real reason to open it. A few hundred regulars with a genuine habit will justify one. If there isn't, a better website reaches more people for a fraction of the cost, and we'd rather tell you that now.
- How do people actually find it?
- We write the store listing in the words your customers use, and — more usefully — make sure your website and your WhatsApp profile link straight to it. A good share of installs arrive from a link on your own site rather than from anyone browsing the store.
- Does it need store approval?
- Yes, and there's a review process with real turnaround times that can stretch in August. We design against the current guidelines from the start and submit for you, planning around the review instead of assuming it's instant.
- What does keeping it running cost?
- Some ongoing work is unavoidable as the operating systems change. You'll get the figure before you commit, and what we build belongs to you rather than existing only through us.
- Should I still have a website?
- Yes, and it should be the strong link. Where the website is the weak point, fixing it reaches far more people than any app — and we'd rather say so than take the work.
